8 Things You Should Know The Rules On A Cruise Ship

Do you want to vacation in the middle of the sea on a cruise ship? Or are you looking for luxury boats for sale? Besides beautiful ocean views and opportunities to see new places, cruises have a lot to offer.

But what most people don’t realize is cruise lines often require their guests to follow strict rules and regulations to keep things running smoothly. But sometimes, the rules can be surprising, and some may even seem nonsensical. What are the rules?

The minimum age in the pool

Some age limits are set to comply with regulations from the United States Department of Public Health. Another reason is to make sure experienced and novice swimmers alike get time to swim.

You are not allowed to sail if you are not old enough

Some holidays are meant for adults only. Windstar Cruises, for example, do not allow children under the age of eight to board the ship. Likewise, any guest under the age of 21 must be accompanied by a guest aged 25 and over.

Do not fly drones

Ships may seem like the perfect place to fly camera-equipped drones, but most cruise lines prohibit them from flying while on board. However, Carnival Cruise Line does allow drone cameras on board, but only allows passengers to fly them when disembarking.

Can’t fly a kite

If you absolutely must fly a kite at some point during your cruise, Carnival Cruise Line allows passengers to take the kite on board and fly it while stopping at the port.

Can’t bring video games

Disney Cruise Line does not allow passengers to bring certain video games. Passengers are allowed to bring their handheld gaming devices on board and any system that needs to be plugged into a TV is prohibited.

No smoking or vaping while onboard

Windstar Cruises passengers can smoke outside on the deck but are prohibited anywhere else on the ship.

Not allowed to sail if pregnant

Most cruise lines, including Royal Caribbean, don’t seem to allow women who are in their third trimester to go overboard. The same goes for people who are about to enter their third trimester at any time during their vacation.
